Referrals:
In addition to providing food to our clients, we are also able to refer them to other resources that may help them with their current situation. There are a multitude of social service agencies in the city of Chicago. Some of the places that we refer clients to are listed below:
- Hands to Help: assists clients who are homeless or at risk of being homeless
- Old Irving Park Community Clinic: provides free healthcare to eligible clients
- Lutheran Social Services: provides mental healthcare and other social services
- Metropolitan Family Services: provides social services
- The Salvation Army: provides a variety of social services
- Catholic Charities: provide a variety of social services
- CARA: provides job training
- 311Short-term Assistance Hotline: provides callers with a list of possible resources for such things as utility bills, rent assistance
- Domestic Violence Hotline: provides assistance for those involved in domestic violence situations
- Chicago Department of Human Services: provides a variety of services including the shelter system in the City of Chicago
